Actor, Activist and Author

Jane Fonda, award-winning actress and humanitarian, has for more than six decades led a life that has been on the center stage in the public eye. A two-time Oscar winner and the daughter of the iconic American actor, Henry Fonda, she is equally known for her considerable acting talent as she is for her involvement in social change. From her stance as a political and environmental activist to her role as a spokesperson for women’s issues, she has been at the forefront of subjects and topics that have dominated our society. In her memoir, My Life So Far, she candidly and eloquently writes about her life and achievements and reveals the lessons she has learned along the way. Her remarkable story contains elements all of us can relate to and with sincere honesty chronicles one woman’s journey to lead an authentic life.

Jane Fonda has received two Best Actress Oscars for her roles in Klute (1971) and Coming Home (1978). She has also been recognized for her performances in The China Syndrome, Nine to Five, On Golden Pond, and The Dollmaker, for which she received an Emmy. A committed activist, since 1994 she has been the Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Population Fund, and is also a board member of the Women & Foreign Policy Advisory Committee of the Council on Foreign Relations, Women’s Media Center, and V-Day: Until the Violence Stops. Her current focus is on G-CAPP, the Georgia Campaign for Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention, which she established in 1995. An avid reader, hiker, fly fisherwoman and yoga enthusiast, she lives in Atlanta with her daughter, Vanessa, and her two grandchildren.
