Breakout Session A: Coach Me To Greatness!
Carrie Hemenway, M.Ed., is principal of Carrie Hemenway Coaching - small business coaching, career coaching, and life coaching - and the author of "New Horizons for Boomers & Beyond." After 20 years in career development at Smith College, she left in December 2005 to launch her own coaching business.
Carrie sees people of all ages and walks of life, with a range of issues, including starting a small business from the idea stage to start-up and beyond. This may include identifying resources to develop a business plan, a budget, marketing assistance, networking, and more. It may also include exploring what may be in the way, attitudes about money and success, and available resources.
Not sure how to present yourself? She'll help you create and refine a 60-second "elevator" speech to clearly state your business concept, goals, and purpose. Communicating with clarity and confidence adds to developing and executing winning strategies for success, as you define it.
She guides people of all ages through career change and job search, reducing stress and finding balance, getting "unstuck" and moving on, to lead prosperous, fulfilling, and purposeful lives. She helps people explore their relationship and attitudes about money and success, and to change old patterns.
Carrie has used the Myers-Briggs Type Inventory (MBTI) for over 20 years with individuals and groups, and offers seminars on team-building and effective communication skills.
For 1-5 person small business owners: If morale and productivity are down, she will meet with you and your staff individually to see if you're on the same "page", where perceptions might differ, and she'll collect feedback from everyone. She then meets with the entire group, and again with the entrepreneur. Often the entrepreneur's vision and goals for the business aren't clearly communicated with the team, and miscommunication can occur with a downward spiral.
