Latina Open House

12.09.2010

LONGMEADOW, MA— Bay Path College will host an Open House for Latina high school and transfer students at its Longmeadow Campus, 588 Longmeadow Street in Longmeadow. The event will be held on Thursday, January 30, from 2 to 5 p.m. Young Latina women attending high school or considering college transfer and their families are invited to attend the event. The Open House will allow prospective students to tour the campus with a Spanish-speaking Bay Path representative, attend academic sessions, and learn more about student life and more than 30 organizations, including Women of Culture, Student Government, HALO (Hispanic American Leadership Organization) and Step Squad. Attendees will talk with current Latina students, and meet Bay Path faculty and staff.

Prospective students can also meet with the College’s financial aid staff to learn about Bay Path’s generous scholarship program. One of the most affordable private colleges in New England, Bay Path gives 100 percent of new full-time students a guaranteed scholarship or grant. The average total aid package for students with financial need in the Class of 2014 was $24,000. Students can qualify for merit scholarships worth up to $14,000. In addition, students can receive additional financial assistance in scholarships and grants, including funding toward select graduate degrees at Bay Path through the College’s Get Your Share Program. Bay Path’s top priority is the success of its students. The financial aid staff works with prospective and current students to ensure no barriers—including financial—stand in their way as they chart their path to a career in business, law, education, the sciences, health care or public service.

High school seniors and college transfer students who attend the Open House may apply to Bay Path during the open house, and receive an admission decision that day.
