LONGMEADOW, MA—Annually, the Hartford-Springfield Economic Partnership (HSEP) recognizes students and colleges that promote HSEP’s InternHere.com program. This year, HSEP has selected Bay Path College as the recipient of the 2010 College InternHero Award for its special support of InternHere.com and the large number of undergraduates who have benefited from the program. The College was recognized at HSEP’s 2010 State of the Region Conference in East Windsor, Conn. on Thursday, December 9, 2010.

An initiative of the Hartford-Springfield Economic Partnership, InternHere.com assists college students in finding internships. The Web site features over a thousand, regional business and organizations that post internship opportunities. Students can search for internships and apply to opportunities online.

“InternHere.com provides a wonderful service to Bay Path students, who benefit from the wide array of internship experiences that are available right in their backyards,” said Sally Schirmer-Smith, director of career services at Bay Path College. “At Bay Path, we work with students to identify internship experiences that fit their professional interests and give them that needed edge that puts them ahead of the competition.”

HSEP’s annual State of the Region Conference is one of the region's premier economic development events. In addition to its nationally known speakers, the 2010 Conference featured talks by successful young entrepreneurs from Connecticut and Massachusetts.
