New Assistant Director of Athletics Names

LONGMEADOW, Mass.—Jessica Huntley, MA, of Berwick, PA has recently been appointed Assistant Director of Athletics and Recruiting Coordinator at Bay Path College. Funded by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Strategic Alliance Matching Grant, this new position entails Huntley to collaborate with Bay Path’s Athletic and Admissions departments within the guidelines of NCAA, and act as the direct contact with the Admissions Office and oversee recruitment efforts of coaches. She will also provide game management, supervise work-study students, coordinate the annual golf tournament, perform Wildcats Web page-related duties, and serve as co-advisor to Bay Path’s Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC).
“We are very excited to welcome Jessica to Bay Path and to the Athletics Department,” said Bay Path Athletic Director Steve Smith. “She brings a great amount of experience and energy to this position. She will do a tremendous job and will play a big part in developing positive relationships with our student-athletes.”
A graduate of Boston College, Huntley received her Master of Arts degree in higher education administration. While pursuing her graduate degree, she served as assistant commissioner and director of conference communications with the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC). In her roles, Huntley oversaw the completion and maintenance of the GNAC Web site, developed and coordinated professional development seminars, served as a liaison to sports information directors, coordinated and supervised community service projects and provided assistance in overseeing conference championships and playoffs, among other responsibilities. Prior to her involvement with GNAC, she received her undergraduate degree in sport management from York College of Pennsylvania, where she was a four-year letter winner on the women’s basketball team. Huntley represented the Capital Athletic Conference and Presidents’ Athletic Conference on the NCAA Student-Advisory Committee. She also completed an internship with Harvard University Men’s Basketball Operations, where she prepared the budget and was responsible for game-day procedures as well as other responsibilities.
“Throughout my life, I’ve been involved in sports in one way or another, and I am thrilled to be stepping into this new role at Bay Path College,” said Huntley. “I am eager to advance Bay Path’s successful athletics program as well as the College’s affiliation with the New England Collegiate Conference and NCAA. However, I am truly looking forward to working with our talented student-athletes in all aspects, from recruitment to possibly assistant coaching, and having a positive impact on their lives at Bay Path.”
