Bay Path Sweeps Softball Doubleheader

The Wildcats of Bay Path College swept a non-conference doubleheader with Green Mountain College (5-0 and 15-3).

In game one, a strong pitching performance by Bay Path junior Jessica Nizinski of West Springfield, MA, who had four strikeouts, limited Green Mountain to three hits. She also contributed to the Bay Path win by hitting two doubles and driving in a run.

Bay Path came out strong in game two by getting 12 hits and scoring eight runs in the third inning to break the game open. Bay Path sophomore Sarah Gates of Crown Point, IN, had two hits including a three-run homer. Bay Path junior Kristal Cormier of Rochester, NY, also limited Green Mountain to three hits while striking out three.

Bay Path is now 6-7 overall, while Green Mountain is 2-6 on the season. The Wildcats will be back in action on Sunday, March 29, hosting Daniel Webster in the opener of the NECC season at 1:00 p.m.
