Wildcats Fall to Eagles

The Eagles of Daniel Webster College swooped past the Bay Path College Wildcats (77-38) in New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) women’s basketball play Thursday night.

Bay Path struggled from the field, hitting four first-half field goals on the way to shooting 33-percent on the night, while the Eagles finished 46-percent including 50-percent in the second half.

Daniel Webster dominated most facets of the game, capitalizing on 37 Wildcat turnovers, owned a 38-24 advantage on the boards, and overwhelmed Bay Path in the paint, 40-16.

Bay Path’s Jessica Hunt of Madison, CT led the Wildcats with 19 points, while Christina Calabrese of Hamilton, NJ added eight to Bay Path’s score.

Eagle Briana DeSeignora of Medfield, MA led four players in double figures with 15 points and added a game-high seven rebounds, while her teammate Alycia Gervais of Windham, CT notched 14 points and six rebounds.
