Winter drives at Bay Path College

12.16.2009

As the region recovers from the first snowstorm of the season, several Bay Path College student organizations are helping those in need stay warm. The clubs are looking to keep Springfield residents warm this winter by holding several drives to collect new and gently used clothing, blankets and pillows.

The Bay Path Education Club is collecting winter clothing, including coats, gloves, hats and scarves for schoolchildren attending Alice B. Beal School. The new Rotaract Club, a Rotary-sponsored service club for young women, is gathering winter coats for Springfield families in need. Bay Path’s Student Occupational Therapy Association is holding a blanket and pillow drive for the Gray House of Springfield, a human service agency that assists neighbors in transition with a food pantry, thrift store, adult education, and afterschool and summer programs.
