Swans of Longmeadow

09.29.2008

LONGMEADOW, MASS. – As part of its Kaleidoscope series, Bay Path College presents Swans of Longmeadow: The Heart of the Refuge, a documentary premiere by five young women, all students in the Film Matters! summer program sponsored by the College. The premiere, which is free and open to the public, will take place on Wednesday, October 8 at 7 p.m. in Breck Suite in Wright Hall on Bay Path’s Longmeadow campus.

In August 2008, these five young women under the guidance of Dr. John Jarvis, professor of English and communications and director of Film Matters!, set out to document the families of swans living in the Fannie Stebbins Wildlife Refuge in Longmeadow. This hands-on experience was as much an eco-investigation as an intensive workshop in film making. Join these budding directors and Dr. Jarvis for the public premiere of this inaugural event.

Following the premiere the documentary film will be available to purchase for $15.00 with all proceeds to be donated to the Fannie Stebbins Wildlife Refuge.

Registration is not necessary, but for more information please call Bay Path College Office of Special Programs at 413.565.1066.
