NECC Conference Tri-Match

NEW LONDON, CT, September 27, 2008 - Mitchell College opened the NECC tri-match with a 3 -2 victory over Bay Path College. After a slow start by Mitchell, dropping the first two games to Bay Path, they were able to refocus and come back to win the final 3 games. Mitchell was lead by sophomore Dana Keele (Cascade, MT) who was able to serve us back into set 3 with 5 service aces and 11 digs. Also contributing were sophomore Jennifer Bordonaro (Winsted, CT) 19 assists, 5 digs and 4 kills and sophomore outside hitter Stephanie Davis (Ledyard, CT) knocked down a combined 12 kills and 3 digs and 2 service aces in today’s match.
In the second match of the day Lesley University took on Bay Path College and won in three straight games, 25 -14, 25 – 22, 25 – 21.
In the final match of the day Lesley University dominated and won in three straight games, 26 – 24, 25 – 19, 25 – 17. Lesley offense was lead by junior middle hitter Lindsey Marek (Killingworth, Conn.) and sophomore Kaitlyn Wechsler (Merrick, N.Y.), both were extremely efficient for the Lynx.
Lesley is now tied for first place in New England Collegiate Conference and they are on the road on September 30th against Eastern Nazarene College. Bay Path is on the road to face Newbury College in this NECC matchup.
Mitchell College is on the road to play cross town rival United States Coast Guard on Saturday, October 4th. Mitchell is currently 4 -5 overall and 2 -2 in the NECC.
