Tashi Dhondup Sharzur, a prominent Tibetian musician, presents a performance of music from Tibet on Thursday, October 4, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. Voices from Tibet: A Musical Tour will take place in the Mills Theatre, located in Carr Hall on the Longmeadow campus of Bay Path College. Sharzur is best known for his performances of traditional Tibetan music, dance, and opera. He uses his childhood nickname, Techung, when performing as a solo artist. Whether performing in traditional or contemporary styles, Techung's dual goals are to revive Tibetan music in the Tibetan community, and to expose the rich performing cultural tradition of his homeland to the world community. A reception with traditional Tibetan fare will immediately follow the performance.
