Because of the breadth of this discipline, most developmental psychologists choose to specialize in a life stage: infancy, childhood, adolescence, adulthood, or old age. With the MS in Developmental Psychology, you can focus in a specific area, and with the assistance of your faculty advisor, create a portfolio of experiences that can be readily translated into career opportunities.
Based on the Longmeadow campus, the program is offered in a one-year accelerated model, as well as a two-year option.
Program Description
The MS in Developmental Psychology provides you with an integrated and comprehensive program of study that will amplify your understanding of developmental psychology and its impact on all phases of life within the context of wellness. You are challenged to synthesize advanced theories and constructs and apply this information to practical situations whether in academic, professional, or community settings. This program enables you to strive for the highest levels of intellectual achievement as well as to develop a better understanding of health, relationships, curriculum that provides an expansive and broad-based educational experience in Psychology. The program requires completion of 36 credits. Research is an integral component of this program.
