Financial Aid

For U.S. citizens and permanent residents, the options for financial assistance include federal and private loans. Scholarships are available to qualifying students in the Nonprofit Management and Philanthropy Programs. We encourage you to apply for financial aid at the same time you apply to school.

How to Apply

Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on-line. Designate on your FAFSA that you want your application information sent to Bay Path College by including school code # 002122.

In addition, graduate students must also complete the Bay Path College Application for Financial Aid and send a signed copy of your and/or spouses, if applicable, current federal income tax return to the Student Financial Services Office.

If you are not required to file a tax return, complete a Non-Tax Filer’s Form. The Bay Path College Application for Financial Aid and the Non-Tax Filer’s Form can be downloaded from this web site or you can contact the Student Financial Services Office to request the applications be mailed to you.

Application Deadline

All financial aid applications must be submitted and received in the Student Financial Services Office at least two weeks prior to the semester for which you will enroll.  Please note - the FAFSA should be completed at least three weeks prior to the start of the semester to ensure the processed application is received by Bay Path College within two weeks prior to the start of the semester.

Financial Aid Available

Federal Subsidized and Unsubsidized Stafford Loans

These loans are available to graduate students carrying at least six credits or more per semester. Eligibility is based on the financial aid application materials submitted to the Student Financial Services Office.

  • A Subsidized Stafford loan is based on need and the interest is paid by the Federal Government while the student is in attendance.
  • An Unsubsidized Stafford Loan is not based on need and he interest is paid by the student while in attendance.

The total maximum Subsidized and Unsubsidized Stafford Loan eligibility for graduate students per academic year is $20,500. The Student Financial Services Office determines the maximum eligibility for student loans.

Please note: the lender may deduct origination fees from the face value of the loan before the loan funds are sent to the College to pay the tuition account. Student loan borrowers must complete a Stafford Loan Master Promissory Note along with Entrance Counseling, (your rights and responsibilities as a loan borrower), before the federal Stafford Loan will be processed. Information regarding the Maser Promissory Note and Entrance Counseling will be provided on the financial aid award letter mailed to you.

Graduate PLUS Loan

Student's who wish to borrow additional funding above the maximum amount under the federal Stafford loan program, may borrow through the Graduate PLUS Loan program. Approval of the loan is based on the credit worthiness of the borrower. The student must be enrolled at least part-time in a graduate degree program to apply for this loan. Maximum loan eligibility is based on the cost of attendance less other financial aid including the federal Stafford loan and scholarships.

Please note:  the lender may deduct origination fees from the face value of the loan before the loan funds are sent to the College to pay the tuition account. Repayment usually begins after the first disbursement of the funds are sent to the College. Student s may be eligible to defer payments if a t least part-time enrolled. If payments are deferred, interest may accrue on the loan until repayment begins. The repayment term is up to 10 years.

Trustees’ Leadership Development Scholarship for Nonprofit Management and Philanthropy Programs

This scholarship offers financial aid opportunities that enhance both the individual and the organization in their efforts to strengthen our communities. The scholarship is applicable only to the Master of Science in Nonprofit Management and Philanthropy graduate degree and graduate certificate programs. Interested students are required to complete a scholarship application. Students interested in applying only for this scholarship and not the federal Stafford Loan program will need to complete the Bay Path College Application for Financial Aid and submit a signed copy of their most recent federal income tax return to the Student Financial Services Office. Amount of the scholarship will be determined by the Student Financial Services Office.

Employer Reimbursement

Any student receiving reimbursement from their employer may apply with the Student Financial Services’ Office to defer their bill until the end of each session. To apply for deferment, the student must complete the Bay Path College Tuition Deferment Application in its entirety and return the form to the Student Financial Services’ Office at least two weeks prior to the first scheduled class. The payment for the deferred portion of the bill must be made within two weeks from the last scheduled class date of the session. Students are also required to submit payment to the Student Financial Services Office of $500.00 two weeks prior to the start of each semester. Payment may be made via check, cash, MasterCard, Visa or American Express. Students may request this application from the Student Financial Services Office. Special Circumstances

If there are special circumstances that you feel could impact your family’s ability to pay the cost of higher education, contact the Office of Student Financial Services to discuss your circumstances. Examples would include unemployment, illness, divorce, disability or excessive medical expenses. If you feel there are circumstances you want the Student Financial Services Office to consider as we evaluate your eligibility for financial aid, you will need to complete a Request for Special Consideration Form. You may download this form from this web site or you can contact the Student Financial Services Office to request the form be mailed to you.
