Program Requirements
To earn the MS in Higher Education Administration, students must complete 36 hours of graduate coursework at the 600 level including the graduate portfolio with the coursework distributed as shown below.
The program consists of eight (8) core courses (totaling 24 credit hours) and four (4) elective courses (totaling 12 credit hours):

MHE 600 Introduction to Higher Education Administration
MHE 605 Organization and Governance of Higher Education
MHE 610 Higher Education Curriculum Development
MHE 620 The Contemporary College Student
MHE 630 Law and Ethics in Higher Education
MHE 640 History and Economics of Higher Education
MHE 650 Operations Management (cross listed with NMP 650)
MHE 670 Capstone: Advanced Management Seminar (cross listed with NMP 670)
Electives (4 courses):
Students can choose four courses from electives in the MS in Nonprofit Management and Philanthropy, MS in Strategic Fundraising and Philanthropy, MBA in Entrepreneurial Thinking, or MS in Communications and Information Management degree programs. For students who have a particular interest in higher education fundraising, all electives may be chosen from NMP fundraising course options, thus allowing for an additional area of specialization. Students should consult with their faculty program advisor in selecting electives.
