OCTOBER IS FIRE SAFETY MONTH

Please take the time to read an article entitled Staying Safe and Warm by Longmeadow Fire Chief Eric Madison to ensure that your home is safe from fire hazards.

  • Special Town Meeting
The Fall Special Town Meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 28 at 7 PM in the Longmeadow High School Gymnasium. The STM warrant is now available online for review.

All registered voters should consider attending this important STM since there is an article (#6) on the warrant involving bonding and expenditure of significant monies for the Longmeadow HS project. See Longmeadow Buzz posting for details on information sessions being conducted by the Longmeadow School Building Committee on this LHS project.
  • 2008 Leaf Collection Program
The 2008 leaf collection program is similar to last year's program. Watch the Longmeadow Community Bulletin Board for additional program information as it becomes available.
  • Voter Registration
The deadline to register to vote for the November 4th election is Wednesday, October 15, 2008. The Town Clerk’s office will be open until 8 PM. Any questions or to verify registration, please call the Town Clerk at 413-565-4103. Absentee ballots are also available with a deadline of 12:00 noon on November 3, 2008. For additional information check the Town Clerk's Voter Information webpage.
  • 2008 Town of Longmeadow Phone Directory
The recently published Verizon phone book (Spring 2008) eliminated the direct Town of Longmeadow department phone number listings. Because many misdirected phone calls are being received, please check and use this detailed listing to contact various the town departments (including the Longmeadow School Department).
  • Permitting Guidebook A useful new guidebook for citizens, businesses and property developers to understand the "permitting" process in the town of Longmeadow. There is a permanent link to this guidebook on the Planning Board and ZBA webpages.

  • Town Photo Album
  • We are always interested in receiving photos that can be shared with our website visitors. Content of interest can be beauty, historic, life in Longmeadow, etc. Preferred submissions are digital images. If you are interested, please send images to webmaster@longmeadow.org.
  •

  • Longmeadow Community Bulletin Board
If you want to avoid standing at the local Big Y or Williams Place bulletin boards reading the latest flyers, event notices, etc., please plan to visit the new Longmeadow Community Bulletin Board. Town government, school department as well as civic groups/ organizations and individuals can use this free resource. If you have a flyer or notice of interest to Longmeadow residents, please submit it for a free posting on this new electronic bulletin board (see submission details).
  • Free Classified Ads
Have something for sale? Need day care assistance? The "Online Marketplace" offers free classified ads including items for sale, items wanted, tag sales and employment listings for Longmeadow residents only. There are also free listings of addresses and phone numbers for Longmeadow businesses.
  • Board/ Committee Meeting Minutes
In an effort to improve communications with town residents, most key boards and committees are now posting meeting minutes on a regular basis on their respective webpages. In order to make it easier for our visitors to find these meeting minutes we have created a single webpage containing links to their locations. A permanent link to this webpage can be found at the bottom left side of this homepage.
  • LHS Alumni Directory
Click on this link to see the most visited page on this website. Every day LHS alumni like you are registering their names and e-mail addresses with us. Use this database to get back in touch with your high school classmates or just to check out our class reunion news. This registry allows you to print out the E-mail addresses of your classmates.

Our STORRS LIBRARY has many resources that can be accessed directly online from our website. Storrs Library is pleased to offer patrons online access to electronic books/ audio and other digital information. Some of these resources require a Storrs Library card for access.
