At Bay Path there’s a big focus on real-world experience!
As a biology major, experience is so important because it’s applying what you’ve learned. It means having the confidence to work in a laboratory and know scientific equipment and techniques. At Bay Path, all my classes are small so I have the attention I need, and they’re taught by professors… not teaching assistants. My professors are always there for me—sharing their knowledge and their expertise, helping me find an internship, or mentoring a special project. There’s a big focus on real-world experience and everyone has to do an internship, from biology to forensic science to biotechnology. I’ve always been interested in the sciences, and since I’ve been at Bay Path I’ve noticed a huge difference in both my ability and confidence in working in laboratories, and I credit the personal attention and the emphasis on learning by doing. Going on to graduate school, I know this is going to give me a tremendous advantage. I’m learning the latest in scientific techniques while learning to be a good scientist.
