Annual Fund
The Bay Path College Annual Fund strengthens the College’s ability to design innovative programs that draw talented students, attract committed faculty who engage and motivate students, create modern and integrated learning spaces, and provide opportunities for extracurricular activities that strengthen a student’s experience. Without the support of alumni, parents and friends, an education at Bay Path College would not be possible for many deserving students.
Why Courtney Gives
Courtney Whalen ’00 recognized the importance of giving back the moment she received her degree. She knew that receiving her diploma would not have been possible without the support of Bay Path alumni, so she continued the tradition with her first gift to the Annual Fund in 2000. She wrote a check for $20.
Today, Courtney is the Annual Fund Chair for the Alumni Association Council, and has been the driving force behind GOLD (Graduates of the Last Decade). Though her gifts have increased over the past eight years, she understands it can be tough to give back when you’re dealing with student loans and first-time bills. But Courtney remembered what great experiences she had while a Bay Path College student, and just couldn’t pass-up the opportunity to say “thanks.”
“I contribute to show my appreciation for everything Bay Path has given me,” Courtney says. “My gift allows students who may not have been able to attend college a change to really shine, and I’m proud of that.”
As a GOLD alumna herself, Courtney is encouraging recent graduates to start giving back today. “Your gift may seem small at first,” she says, “but there will be a day when you’ll realize how meaningful that $20 check was to a current student.”
