Profile

An instructor in information technology, Jane Weyant, MSEE, has served Bay Path College since July 2000. Her courses have concentrated on programming—C++, Java, Visual Basic, and SQL, networking, e-commerce, systems analysis and design, decision support systems, database design, physics and developed laboratories. She has recently transitioned to mathematics courses, such as college algebra, pre-calculus, business mathematics, numbers and operations, functions and operations, and geometry and statistics, among others. She also serves as a mathematics tutor for students for preparing for the Massachusetts Tests for Educator Licensure.

With more than 15 years of industry experience, Weyant has worked in the manufacturing, test, and software environments for Digital Equipment Corporation, United Technologies, and Compaq Computer Corporation. She has authored and presented papers at Decision Science Institute Annual Conferences and at the Conference for Academic Disciplines. In addition, Weyant has taught courses at Springfield Technical Community College and Holyoke Community College.

Weyant received a bachelor’s and master’s degree in electrical engineering from Western New England College. She holds several professional certifications, including Certified Novell Engineer, Certified Banyan Specialist and Certified Banyan Engineer, Software Quality Assurance and Testing , and “Train the Trainer” in Manufacturing Engineering Finance. Weyant is actively involved in her community, serving as a mathematics tutor to area students, a team captain for the American Cancer Society Relay for Life, and a volunteer for the Jimmy Fund at Dana Farber Cancer Institute.
