Dr. William Sipple, Provost and Vice President for Academic AffairsProvost and Vice President for Academic Affairs William L. Sipple is professor of Communications and Information Management at Bay Path College, and formerly served as professor and Dean of the School of Communications and Information Systems at the Robert Morris University in Pennsylvania. Dr. Sipple has more than 40 years of experience in college teaching, higher education administration, media production, and technology/information management and consulting.

He has led curricular projects at Bay Path and Robert Morris, which include accelerated degree programs for adult and traditional learners; master and doctoral level programs in communications, information management, business, education, and information technology for working professionals; and communications and information technology skills programs involving a sequence of nine courses focused on reading and interpreting texts, writing, information literacy, presenting and using support technologies, listening, and intercultural communications, as well as specific rhetorical skills for business and the professions.

His publications focus on rhetoric, communications, technology issues, media management, higher education, and Renaissance literature by Edmund Spenser. He has produced award-winning television projects for PBS, corporations, nonprofit organizations and education, and he has been recognized with Telly Awards, New York Festival Awards, International CINDY Competition Awards, American Videographer Awards, among others. His doctorate is from Duquesne University in Pennsylvania, and he has completed post-doctoral programs at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, the University of Pittsburgh, and Harvard University. He serves as chair of the Board of Directors of WGBY in Springfield, MA, sits on the Board of Directors for WGBH in Boston, and is a member of the marketing committee for the Springfield Museums. He has served on a project advisory board for Connecticut Public Television, as well as represented Bay Path College on the Hartford/Springfield Knowledge Corridor Project with the Regional Economic Development Council.
