Cynthia Smith Forrest, EdD, is an adjunct professor in the Master of Science in Higher Education Administration (MHE) Program at Bay Path College. Dr. Forrest is founder and owner of Cynthia Smith Forrest & Associates Inc., a higher education consultancy business. Her clients include colleges and universities throughout the United States. Previously, she served as dean of student services at Framingham State College, and director of resident student development and special services at the University of South Carolina.

Forrest has served as a part-time faculty member at Harvard University and University of Massachusetts Boston, and was an invited lecturer at several colleges in Massachusetts, Washington D.C. and South Carolina. She has led numerous workshops and seminars on topics including: management, assessment and accreditation process, future trends in higher education, career education, diversity, academic affairs and women’s leadership. She has been regularly featured in the American Council on Education Office of Women in Higher Education Network News, a quarterly publication.

She has a history of community service and her affiliations include MassBay Community College, Educational Foundation, the Kennedy Library Profiles in Courage Student Essay Award Selection Committee, and Metrowest YMCA Board of Directors. She has also participated on several academic committees for Framingham State College, Massachusetts State College Building Authority and the University of South Carolina.

Forrest received her Doctor of Education and Master of Education in Administration, Planning, and Social Policy from Harvard. She also received her Master of Education in Counselor Education and Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from the University of South Carolina.
