Denise Duguay began her teaching career at Bay Path College as an adjunct professor in 2008. She has 10 years adjunct undergraduate and graduate teaching experience from two additional, local, accredited colleges as well as the local police academy.

Duguay brings 21 years experience working in law enforcement, 10 of which have been as a police supervisor. She currently holds the rank of lieutenant with the Holyoke Police Department, a position she has held for more than five years. She is presently assigned to the Criminal Investigations Bureau and is the Commander of the Domestic Violence Unit, which handles Registered Sex Offender cases and domestic violence follow-up investigations. As a lieutenant, she has been the commander of several Special Operations. In addition to her supervisory roles, she has experience as a sexual assault investigator, community police officer, elder abuse officer, undercover officer, bike patrol officer, and media liaison officer.

Duguay holds a master’s degree from Western New England College in Springfield, MA, and she is a graduate of the New England Institute of Law Enforcement Management Command Training Program at Babson College. Her expertise is in the areas of criminal investigations, sexual assault and domestic violence, and media relations.
