Justin DionJustin H. Dion, JD, is an assistant professor of law in the Legal Studies Department at Bay Path College. He teaches various law courses, including introduction to law and law classes related to bankruptcy, real estate, business, trusts and estates, criminal, family, ethics, and legal research and writing issues. Attorney Dion has taught in all three programs offered by Bay Path—Bay Path Undergraduate Program, One-Day-A-Week Saturday Program, and The Graduate School. He also has experience teaching as an adjunct at Western New England College School of Law where he has taught Non-Profit Law and Employee Benefits Law.

After obtaining his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in psychology from Southern Connecticut State University, Attorney Dion received his juris doctor from Western New England College School of Law in 2000, where he also served as Editor-in-Chief of the Western New England Law Review. He was admitted to the Massachusetts and Connecticut state bars in 2001. He also became a certified mediator that same year. In addition, he has been admitted to practice before the Massachusetts and Connecticut Federal Court, The United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, and the Supreme Court of the United States. He joined Bacon & Wilson PC in Springfield in 2003—the same year he began his tenure as an adjunct professor at Bay Path. Attorney Dion provides pro bono services to Bacon & Wilson clients, enabling legal studies undergraduates to observe and assist with legal cases.

A recipient of several CALI (Center for Computer-Assisted Legal Instruction) Awards, Attorney Dion received a 2009 Adams Pro Bono Publico Awards for his outstanding commitment to providing volunteer legal services for underserved populations in Massachusetts. He has been recognized annually since 2006 with the SuperLawyers Rising Star Award by Boston Magazine. He currently serves as president of the Hampden County Bar Association Bankruptcy Section and is a Dial-A-Lawyer volunteer as well as a member of the United Way of the Pioneer Valley Allocations Committee. Attorney Dion is the author of numerous published articles and frequent lecturer for the local and state bar associations.
