Profile

Dr. Karen D. DeAngelis comes to Bay Path with a wealth of experience in both higher education and special education settings. She has worked as a special education teacher in public elementary schools and learning centers, has interned on the U.S. Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor & Pensions in Washington D.C., and has been a research assistant for the arts organization, Imagination Quest. In addition, Dr. DeAngelis has worked as an Adjunct Faculty member and most recently was the Director of Teacher Education at American University in Washington D.C.

She holds Professional Massachusetts Teacher Certifications in Special Needs and Elementary Education. Dr. DeAngelis has received numerous honors and grants, and has served on multiple educational committees, boards, and associations.

Dr. DeAngelis received her BA in Elementary Education and Communications from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, MA. She earned a Master of Science in Special Needs from Simmons College in Boston, MA; and was awarded a Doctor of Philosophy in Education from American University in Washington D.C.
