Christine A. Bacon joined the Bay Path College faculty as an adjunct professor in 2004, and in 2007 she received her appointment as Assistant Professor of Biology and Secondary Education. Her professional career has included National Institutes of Health (NIH)-funded research in health-related microbiological studies, quality assurance supervision in industrial manufacturing, and 20 years of teaching experience. Bacon has been certified in the areas of state regulatory procedures, federal safety practices, and radioisotope management. She has been involved with community outreach programs at the elementary through secondary educational levels, and has mentored undergraduate education students in the teaching of Biology at area high schools.
Teaching courses at both the introductory and advanced levels for the Science and Occupational Therapy departments, Bacon focuses on human health and function in the study of Anatomy and Physiology, Immunology, Microbiology, and Human Disease. Also involved in the Biology-Secondary education degree program, she teaches courses in scientific history and philosophy, as well as curriculum development. Having recently joined the Physician Assistant program development team, Bacon aspires to integrate academic knowledge with clinical application to better prepare students for a highly skilled career in healthcare. As an advocate for student success, Bacon dedicated her doctoral dissertation to the study and implementation of student integration strategies to assist students with transition into the college environment. Having served as both a first year advisor and educator, Bacon strives to partner with students in their educational exploration and advancement.
Her educational and professional backgrounds contribute to her continued interests in both scientific inquiry and health-related issues. Christine A. Bacon received her B.S. degree from Simmons College, M.S.T. from American International College, and D.H.Ed. from A.T. Still University.
