NMP 665 — Law, Policy, and Government Relations in Nonprofit Organizations

Nonprofit Management and Philanthropy

This course introduces students to the legal context in which all nonprofits must operate. Topics include qualifications for tax-exempt status, executive compensation, lobbying restrictions, charitable regulations, corporate and trust governance, and UBIT. Students will also be familiarized with the policy development process and strategies that nonprofits can use to impact that process.
