Database Management Systems presents the concept of a database environment and the spectrum of capabilities considered to be part of the database management system. The course provides an overview of topics and related issues in planning, designing, implementing and managing a database. While all four models of database are examined, the course emphasizes and provides experience with the relational model and with an SQL-compliant database management system.
