BUS 326 — Logic & Practice of Financial Management

In this course, students are provided with an overview of the environment, concepts, and practices of finance and financial management. The course focuses on sources, acquisition, and use of financial funds for a firm’s operations. Financial institutions and markets are studied. Concepts of risk and return, as well as time value of money are discussed. Financial statement information is reviewed and analyzed to evaluate firm performance. Students study the issues related to funding through stocks and bonds, capital budgeting techniques and incremental cash flows, the cost of capital, and other financial management topics. International and ethical issues are discussed when appropriate.
