ACC 490 — Contemporary Issues in Accounting

This course is a capstone course for accounting majors which provides an opportunity for students to demonstrate they have achieved the goals established for the accounting program. The course will also cover current developments in the accounting industry including recent FASB pronouncements and their effects on financial reporting, changes in auditing standards, tax law changes, international accounting standards and issues surrounding the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. This course will assist the student in preparation for the CPA and CMA exams.
