Some of you may wonder what a Provost is. In brief, the Provost is the Chief Academic Officer. Just as technology firms have chief information officers and hospitals have chief medical officers, colleges also typically appoint someone to take overall charge of academic matters. Let me contextualize this to the BPC. Our college is organized similarly to other colleges. For example, we have departments such as biology or psychology which are led by department chairs. Departments belong to Schools. The Bay Path College academic community consists of The College of Arts and Sciences and four schools—Education, Management and Social Justice, and Adult and Professional Studies—in addition to the division of the Research and Academic Resources, each of which is led by a Dean. The Deans in turn, report to the Provost. Click on the link for each school to learn more about the Dean, the faculty and programs which make up this area.
For those considering BPC as a choice for college, nothing can substitute for a visit to our campus where you can experience our welcoming community and see the academic excellence that is grounded in our commitment to a women’s-focused education. You will discover that we are a private college of the perfect size -- large enough to have a rich array of programs, majors, and resources, and yet small enough to give the close personal attention that only comes from a student centered faculty and staff dedicated to educating the whole person. Please accept my invitation to visit the campus and see for yourself what makes us one of the fastest growing and most innovative women’s college in New England.
