Campus Public Safety
The Department of Campus Public Safety (CPS) works to provide a safe and secure environment in which to live and work for the entire Bay Path community. CPS officers also enforce the College's rules, regulations, and policies as well as town, state and federal laws.
Bay Path College is a safe school. CPS operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week with an advanced e-911 system connected to the Longmeadow Police and Fire departments to handle emergency and fire situations. Residence halls are secured around the clock with electronic ID access, which is provided and maintained by CPS. In addition to the above duties, CPS offers escort services as needed, enforce parking regulations, assist in special events, and provide crime prevention and campus safety workshops throughout the year.
Message from the Director
It is with pride and pleasure that I welcome you to the Bay Path College Department of Public Safety’s web pages. Throughout these pages you will find the Department’s Vision, Mission, Service Philosophy, and Core Values, along with some general information that I hope you will find informative and useful. The Public Safety team is composed of four full-time non-sworn Campus Public Safety Officers and four part-time Public Safety Officers. All of the officers are representatives of Bay Path College and as such support the College’s strategic plan and mission. They also enforce all College rules and regulations. Public Safety Officers enhance the safety and security of the Bay Path College community. The Officers strive to achieve this through preventive foot patrols, 24-hour accessibility, proactive problem-solving, positive conflict resolution, educational programs and community engagement. All members of the Public Safety Office shall show respect and compassion towards others and shall preserve the dignity and rights of each individual. The Campus Public Safety Office will work in collaboration with local police and fire departments to ensure the community is safe.
