Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice

Goals: Criminal Justice Program students will be able to:

• Explain the administration of law in our society as a method to control chaos.
• Explain the elements of criminal statutes.
• Discuss what motivates individuals to commit crimes, and current issues and controversies in law enforcement.
• Apply the methodology of how to reconstruct a past event as a focus in a criminal investigation.
• Analyze evidence, and associate that evidence with a suspect.
• Assess individuals holistically using observation, interviews, interrogations, proxemics, kinesics, and paralinguistics.
• Apply theoretical concepts to real life scenarios.

The Criminal Justice Program’s focus is to have students develop an awareness and appreciation of the roles, responsibilities, and collaborative relationships between practitioners in the areas of law enforcement, crime laboratory, private security, corrections, probation/parole, and social agencies.
